Apologies, I misheard Andrew, I thought he said the highest mountain in the world  - but actually it's only the tallest one in England!
Yes, with the rock climbing and biking weekend now safely behind us, and what a great time that was, we turn our attention to the next CMAT expedition to the Lake District, which will be from Friday June 29th to Sunday 1st July.

All being well, those who want to will have the
opportunity to walk into the area surrounded by England's highest mountains and actually set up camp for the night in the wild.  You will probably be boiling your water collected from a lake and will be cooking dehyfrated food just like the Everest explorers.  But wait, there's more...

...... as it will be light until very late you may well have the opportun
ity to climb England's highest mountain, called Scafell, to watch the sun setting into the Irish Sea.  Or will it be the other way round? Will Andrew be getting everybody up at 3.30 in the morning to climb Scafell before breakfast, and watch the sun rise into the majestic skies.  Who knows, but the only way to find out is to be there!
As always, I do have to point out that this is England we are talking about, so all our activities are dependant on the right weather - so good waterproofs as well as suncream are a must for this trip.

Leaders - please note that we expect a high demand for this trip and so there is the possibility that not everybody in your troop/unit may be able to attend.  As always, we will do our best to involve everybody and we will keep you informed over the next few weeks on the take-up.

Leaders again - CMAT does not have a limitless supply of suitable tents and lightweight cooking equipment, so please make sure you try to source these items locally.  You must also make sure your Scouts & Explorers have personal equipment suitable for the environment and for the worst of the weather.  Even in July it can freeze overnight high up in the hills, so lightweight summer sleeping bags on their own will not be good enough.  For more advice please contact me by e-mail ..... inadequately equipped participants will not be able to stay on hills overnight and will return to base with a leader, along with any other participants who don't want to camp out.

The next thing to do is to get the application form filled in for each of your Scouts, Explorers and Leaders and sent to me at the address on the form.  You can also e-mail me completed forms which you can either scan or complete electronically.

Forms must be accompanied by payment - this can either be by cheque with the application form below or by BACS transfer.

If you have the CMAT banking details already then you MUST use this reference on your transfer:  LKS618xxxxx  where xxxxx are the first 5 letters of the participant's surname.  If you do not have the BACS details please request these via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to me.

I will confirm all application received so long as there is a reply e-mail address to send this to.

As always, if you want any questions answered please just ask.
