Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk and former scout, Tim Passmore, is urging the Suffolk scouting community to support the Suffolk Coronavirus Community Fund.  He recorded a short video for us that you can see here on YouTube

This fund is helping to fight the impact of Coronavirus in our county.  Here are a couple of examples of how the fund has already made a difference for young people:  Level two youth project and Green Light Trust

Scouting has always been an essential part of the community whether that community is local, national or international. During these challenging times for all, Scouts are proving their resilience by supporting their communities in a multitude of ways and will back the Social Media Army through its +6000 scouts in Suffolk.  We promise to “think of others before ourselves” and what better way than supporting the Suffolk Coronavirus Community Fund.

Please help by signing up using the link below, and liking, RT'ing and sharing as much as you can to help spread the word to your communities and beyond!

Please sign up to join the Social Media Army at the Community Foundation website www.suffolkcf.org.uk/ .

Fundraising Challenge

Gimme 5 social media square bannerGimme 5 is the fundraising challenge for Suffolk Community Foundation in conjunction with PawPower. We are being challenged to raise £5.00 by walking the family dog 5km and to ask 5 others to do the same. You can access the details here on their JustGiving page.

The Paw Power #Gimme5 Challenge has been created for all the family on two legs and four and can be enjoyed safely in line with the latest social distancing guidelines. Getting fresh air and staying active is so important, so what better way to do so than on a scenic dog walk through our beautiful Suffolk countryside? You'll be raising money for important causes along the way too, so it's a win win!

On this occasion, every penny raised will be used to support Suffolk young people by funding local charities and community groups who work with them to achieve their full potential.

In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic and as lockdown restrictions are gradually eased, funds raised will be distributed to help re-build the lives of young people through two specific funds administered by Suffolk Community Foundation, The Youth Intervention Fund and the #iwill Fund.
