Four Leaders were also presented with Awards at the Carol Service, David Nessling – The Chief Scouts Commendation for Good Service and Joan Gibson, Steve Messer and Peter Runnacles – The Chief Scouts Award of Merit.

Elliott , now a Scout, was presented with his Silver Award at the Groups Carol Service by Alex Price, the Deben District Commissioner. To gain this, Elliott had to complete all the Challenge badges as well as six other badges whilst he was a Cub.

There have been some issues with the Contact form, hopefully these have now been resolved.

There is currently space in the Cub Pack for new recruits aged 8 – 10 1/2 .

They meet on Tuesdays, 6.45 – 8.00pm

Three Scouts entered the Deben District scout Cooking competition.

Westerfield Cubs help brighten up Westerfield Station by planting herbs for the sensory planter to attract bees, butterflies and insects, led by Station Volunteer, Sandy. During Lockdown, when they were unable to meet, they made bird/bat boxes at home, for their Good Turn Challenge, which will be erected on the station by Greater Anglia.

The Scouts had their first face to face meeting since March 2020.

The Cubs and Scouts will be running some online meetings up to Easter with the hope that from April onwards we may be able to resume some sort of face to face meetings.Continue reading →
