The CMAT team are pleased to announce that the hill walking weekend in North Yorkshire based at the Thornthwaite Scout Campsite for the weekend 24th-26th Feb 2023 is now open for bookings.
For Leaders, approved Adults, Scout Network and Explorer Scouts. It is recommended that any Leaders planning to attend the CMAT Training & Assessment weekend in March may also wish to attend this event for advice and guidance

ExpiredIt's with great sadness that I am letting you all know that our dear friend and fellow Scouter Martin Richards passed away on Sat 22nd October after a sudden illness.
Martin's funeral is taking place on Thursday 24th November at 11:00 at the West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, Bury St. Edmunds IP28 6RR.
Family flowers only, Donations to East of England Ambulance Trust to Hunnaball Funeral Directors, Sudbury or at crematorium.
Martin joined 3rd Sudbury in March 1994 and had been a County Training Adviser running First Aid courses since 2009. He regularly attended the Sudbury District Appointments committee meetings and was awarded the Medal of Merit in 2014.
Bradfield Park Campsite needs to recruit the following volunteers:
CAMPSITE WARDEN
The warden is responsible for the day to day operation of the campsite. They will liaise with the Booking Secretary, Campsite volunteers, customers and the management committee.
They will be supported by the Management Committee and other volunteers.
CAMPSITE BOOKING SECRETARY
The job entails receiving bookings (via website) and liaise with the customers and the Campsite Warden, organising activities instructor as required, invoicing the fees and ensuring fees are collected.
The CMAT County Mountain Activities team have arranged this special first aid training weekend (3rd/4th December 2022 starting at 9am promptly each day) for anybody who is involved in adventurous activities in remote and wild country.
The course has 16 hours of training and practice and meets the requirements for the UK Mountain Leader, Walking Group Leader, Hill & Moorland Walking leader awards etc as well as British Canoeing Coaching Awards. It also fulfils the first aid requirements for any adult holding a Scouting appointment. Attendance on both days is mandatory.
Gone Home - Colin Elsdon
Expired(Updated 15-Nov). News received that Colin passed away on Sunday 16th October. He was Scouting for over 70 years mainly with the Venture Scouts in the old Ipswich-West District (now Wolsey) since 1948. After being a leader, he became an ADC Leader Training for a further 25 years after which he was awarded the top award for Scouting - the Silver Wolf in 2008 and also became a County Vice-President.
Cremation at Seven Hills Crematorium, Ipswich on Friday 18 November at 3pm. Family flowers only; donations in memory of Colin for St. Elizabeth Hospice, gratefully received at the cremation or can be made online via www.hunnaball.co.uk or c/o Hunnaball of Ipswich.
