On Saturday I dropped in to see the Wolsey District Beaver fun weekend at Hallowtree. In spite of the chilling weather, 179 Beaver Scouts dressed as Cowboys and Indians were having a super time. There was archery, grass sledging, the bouncy castle, rides around the field in the train, lots of crafts and hot chocolate on tap! Lesley Brown and her team pulled out all the stops to give the boys and girls a weekend to remember.

The previous weekend at Hallowtree again the Training Academy had 80 Leaders attend the modules. There was such a buzz. I know all the leaders enjoyed the experience. It was a mammoth task ably carried out by Jan Webb and Leigh Foster assisted by a team of dedicated Trainers.

I was privileged to attend the Queen’s Scouts Parade in Windsor. It rained!... but it didn’t dampen the spirit of Scouting. I was so proud to see the Suffolk Scouts parading. It is the ultimate award and the one award I would love to see every Scout in Suffolk achieve.

Off to Lowestoft on Saturday.
