BG-FLX-12-10Bear Grylls, the Chief Scout, visited Suffolk Scouts today as part of the "Bear in the Air" tour for the East of England.  His first port of call in Suffolk was at Landguard Fort, Felixstowe where he arrived in a fire truck with his family and then went on to meet Scouts, Explorers and leaders as well as members of the public who were visiting the Fort.  Whilst he was chatting to the Scouts and inspecting their ballistas, he was kept busy signing neckerchiefs and other items.

BBC Radio Suffolk managed to grab a few words about Scouting and persuaded Bear and everyone else to recite the Scout Promise. Listen to Rob Dunger's show on Sunday 13th to see what happened.

After Felixstowe, Bear visited a camp at Bradfield Park and some water activities at Fritton Park before moving on to our neighbouring counties.  As soon as we get some more pictures in from the 3 visits, they'll be posted in a gallery on this website.

The East Anglian Daily Times also covered the events across the region - see EADT-Bear Grylls and watch out for a full article in the EADT on Monday 14th Oct.

The Bury Free Press has an on-line article at Bear Grylls in Bury with a full article planned on Friday 18th.

The Lowestoft Journal have some of the news from the Fritton Lake vist at Bear Grylls at Fritton with some video.
