For those of you who want to run your own expeditions, or support the County ones (yes please!), the supervisors course is for you (as well as holding the appropriate Scout permits of course, if applicable for the terrain). For those of you wishing to assess the expedition section, the assessors course is for you. Or do both...Please note that you cannot assess a group that you have trained.

These are being held at West Bergholt Scout HQ, just west of Colchester.

Cost: £20 per day (apparently, 50% can be claimed back from Gilwell)

Saturday 9th November- Expedition Assessors course:

There will be pre-course e-learning which takes about 20minutes and you must complete the DofE e-induction before the course as well

In addition, those wishing to assess Gold expeditions, or Bronze/Silver expeditions in wild country, will need to complete the Gold module online learning. This covers wild country notifications, Assessor Networks and other areas associated with assessing at this level.
Assessors will need to undertake a supported assessment supported by a DofE approved Supporting Assessor after the course. There is a set of DofE approved performance criteria by which potential Assessors will be measured. This must be completed within two years of attending the Assessors Course.
