It is with great sadness to inform you that Shirley passed away suddenly on 27th June. She had been staying with her son and family in Leicestershire when she became ill and was admitted to hospital where she passed away.
During Shirley’s long association with scouting she has had a number of roles at both district and county level including Assistant District Commissioner - Leader Training and Assistant County Commissioner - Cub Scouts. For the past nine years she has been the chair of Lowestoft District Appointments Committee and latterly an enthusiastic Scout Active Support member.
She was an inspiration to and had a positive influence on a great number of both young people and adults alike and her enthusiasm for scouting was unbounded.
Shirley's funeral service is at Great Yarmouth Crematorium on Monday 25th July 2022 at 10:45 am. The family have confirmed that the wearing of uniform by those attending will be welcomed.
